Well it's Wed Aug 2 5:00AM in Manilla. Just got internet hooked up yesterday so I'll try to do some updating to the blog. Just a couple of quick notes:
Trip from Denver was long though uneventful. The GPS showed 8790 miles, 20 hours and 10 minutes total travel time, 2 1/2 hours of layover time, taking us from Denver, through Minneapolis, Japan then to Manila. (Yup! I use it in the plane.)
Thanks to Jeff Pletcher who took us to the airport. We had a logistics problem doing it without his kind assistance.
Lots of bags to take - Barry, Michelle, and the grand kids who were staying with us most of the month of July let us use some of their excess baggage allotment which really helped (3 additional 70 lb bags). Two 70 lb checked bags plus a carry-on plus another 'personal' bag to also carry on times six people to DIA! Really nice to have some of our stuff without waiting for the surface shipment due the end of Aug. Barry returned to Manila Sunday the 23rd, Dea and I the 26th, then Michelle, Stevii, Davis & Jaron the next day.
